Live Guest Portraits are hand painted Watercolor & Pen and Ink portraits of your guests! Painted in my signature impressionistic style during the cocktail hour and/or reception, each illustration is completed at surprising speed (approximately 5 - 10 minutes per person, 10 - 15 minutes per couple) and guests get to take the original, signed artwork home with them. The 5x7” portraits are painted on archival, cold-pressed luxe watercolor paper and are enclosed in a clear sleeve. Bespoke printing and/or monogramming is also available, please inquire.

How does it work? Before your event begins, I set up a painting station where your guests can stop to pose and be photographed as they arrive. During your ceremony and/or cocktail hour/reception, I paint your guests while they celebrate with you. Paintings are displayed in a mini "pop-up gallery" for guests to enjoy. Because each portrait is an individual work of art, I can only complete a relatively small number while on site. Any guests (who would like a portrait, I've found that not all do!) who did not have their portraits painted live will have their photos taken and paintings will be completed in the studio. A point person is requested so that I can mail all the guest portraits to one individual. Of course, pick-up at the NH studio is always possible as well. In general, I stay on-site between 3 and 4 hours. Usually, when the dancing really kicks in and the party gets started, folks are less interested in the live painting!

Style: My watercolor sketch technique is impressionistic, with a focus on the guest’s fashion, hair, and style! I use watercolor paint, a waterproof artist’s pen, and 5 x 7” cold-pressed archival watercolor paper. All paintings are inserted into a plastic sleeve for protection.

How do I book you? Once you've filled out my inquiry form, I’ll check my availability. If I’m available, I’ll create a proposal for you. Once the contract is signed and the 50% retainer is submitted your date will be locked in! The remainder of the payment will be due within two weeks of your event.

What do you need for set up? I ask that you have the venue set up an 8’ table for me with two chairs on either side. ( Please no circular tables). A line forms pretty organically so you want it to be located somewhere in the venue where guests can easily see me, but it won’t get in the way of caterers, bartenders, etc. if a line forms. I’ll bring all art supplies and signage.

Helpful tip: I suggest placing a cocktail table near the live art station for guests to place their drinks on. I do not allow beverages on the live art table (for obvious reasons! )

Do guests need to pose for 5 minutes? No, they do not. They are, however, welcome to hang around as I draw their portrait live! Once a guest approaches my table, I’ll take their photo and get painting! I will leave the finished paintings displayed on the table for your guests to admire and pick up when they are ready to leave. **Please note, I will only draw from photos that I or my assistant take during the event.

Amethyst: Up to 30 guests (or 15 couples) $1800

Ruby: Up to 60 guests (or 25 couples) $2500

Sapphire: Up to 120 guests (or 60 couples) and a 6 x 9" portrait of the happy couple $3200

Emerald: Up to 180 guests (or 90 couples), and a  6 x 9" portrait of the happy couple. $3900

Diamond: Up to 250 guests, an 11 x 14” of the happy couple, an 11 x 14” “special moments” painting of the couple’s choice. $5000
